Summary: I've never really been one to do much work in the realms of fantasy. Especially not in the genre of sword and sorcery. So, I gave it my best shot. I think I should have made it darker.. not just in color, but in theme as well. It still feels too Disney to me. But it was a fun piece to try my hand at. I decided to paint it in Corel Painter to give it more of a fantasy type feel. I'm not sure how I feel about it. But like I said, it was fun to do something different.

Summary: Okay, so one character is completely do-able. Two characters is quite a bit tougher. Three characters... OMG! This took a while. In fact, much longer than the previous two. To be honest, I had plans Friday evening and all day Saturday.. so I had to run out with just half the color applied. So, I guess you could say that I cheated a bit since I finished it (quickly) this morning. The girls aren't nearly punk enough for my taste. I wanted them much more riot girl, but I just didn't have the time to put into it. So, I AM planning on doing this piece again sometime soon, but while spending a few days on it. I'll do it much bigger, much more punk rock, and have it ready to print!

Summary: "I'm not very pleased with it, but I DID finish it. NO MORE MULTIPLE CHARACTERS! I think it's counter productive for what we're doing. I don't want to have paint children again for a while."

I started working on this piece around 5:30 last night. However, I had to start and stop A LOT. So, I didn't end up finishing until around 2am.

Summary: This piece took much longer for me to finish than Day 1's. I'm not sure if that's because I had to start and stop a lot.. or because there are two characters in this piece. Regardless, I need to remember to focus on completing the piece and stop trying to make it a masterpiece, which clearly.. it isn't. The perfectionist in me is making these daily exercises more difficult than they need to be. This exercise did force me to use a color palette outside of my comfort zone. I don't do much work in pastels.

Summary: There are some things that I would have done differently if I had more time. I would have introduced more colors and shading, and fixed little details that I didn't notice until after the fact. All in all, I'm pretty okay with this piece. It's not great, but it's done... and it turned out better than I had initially imagined. It's gotten me pretty excited to continue on with this exercise.

I became discouraged when Photoshop crashed in the middle of my line work, destroying the file. So, starting over wasn't necessarily at the top of my list... especially when my past experiences have been to just scrap a piece all together. However, I was quite excited over the concept and knew it'd be a killer piece once I sucked it up and finished it. I'll have prints available soon.
